"Clark's Old School", or simply "The Old School" as it is affectionately known, was for many years the village's schoolhouse. Originally endowed and built as a result of the Will of one Laurence Clark in the 18th Century (which included also paying for the schoolmaster), the School educated the children of the village and outlying farms right up to the 1960s. Falling numbers and changing policies resulted in the school being closed. However, the Trustees of the School retained it for educational and communtiy use, and today it is the only community facility in Wigglesworth.
The school retains many original features, as well as parish artefacts, and plays host to meetings and events. However, it is in dire need of major work and refurbishment, and, following consultation and planning, the Trustees have recently submitted a bid for funding from the Lottery in order to bring the School right up to date.
