2.       Matters arising:  The white lines at Town End and yellow strips by the speed restriction signs are still outstanding, the contract is out but has not yet been completed.  Paythorne Road end has been completed and a vote of thanks to Barbara Houghton for all her hard work on this was given from the chair.  Planning permission for the Barn at the Plough has now been granted.  Brian Newhouse proposed a vote of thanks to Bryan Procter after the completion of his ride from Derbyshire which raised £6890 for the Air Ambulance.

3.       Election of officers:  Mike Dean was proposed as chairman by Angela Dinsdale, seconded by Brian Newhouse and duly elected.  Roger Wales was proposed as clerk by Angela Dinsdale, seconded by Shirley Wales and duly elected.

4.       Accounts:  There is a balance of £789.94 in the current account and the accounts were approved.

5.       Planning applications:  There are no outstanding applications.

6.       Correspondence:  Several items have been received and all were made available at the end of the meeting.

7.       Any other business:  Mike Dean informed the meeting that it is responsible for appointing two of the Trustees of Clarkes Old School.  Roger Wales has served for the last three years and is therefore due for reelection.  Shirley Wales proposed, Brian Procter seconded and he was duly reelected.  Harry Marley advised that Yvonne Marley had just stood down from the board and that a new Trustee was therefore needed.  David Clarke was proposed by Brian Newhouse, seconded by Mike Dean and duly elected.

Long Preston Relief in Need has two representatives, Barbara Houghton and Shirley Wales and they are to continue in their posts as Chair and Secretary respectively.

The condition of the road at Hollowgill was mentioned and it was agreed that the clerk would write to the council about this and Barbara Houghton would also follow it up.

The planning permission granted to Church Lane Farm had included a condition that the site would be screened by newly planted trees.  The council has advised the clerk that this would be enforced at the next planting season in the Autumn.

The collection of earth moving equipment at Pikebar is currently under investigation by the Planning Department of CDC and they will advise shortly if any action is to be taken.

There being no further business the meeting was closed at 8.20 pm.
