Present: Mike Dean (Chair), Roger Wales (Clerk),
Shirley Wales, Bryan Procter, Harry Marley, Angela Dinsdale,
Brian Newhouse, David Clarke

The minutes of the
last meeting,
2.
Matters
arising: The white lines at Town End and
yellow strips by the speed restriction signs are still outstanding, the
contract is out but has not yet been completed.
3.
Election of
officers: Mike Dean was proposed as
chairman by Angela Dinsdale, seconded by Brian Newhouse and duly elected.
Roger Wales was proposed as clerk by Angela Dinsdale,
seconded by Shirley Wales and duly elected.
4.
Accounts: There is a balance of £789.94 in the current
account and the accounts were approved.
5.
Planning
applications: There are no outstanding
applications.
6.
Correspondence: Several items have been received and all were
made available at the end of the meeting.
7.
Any other
business: Mike Dean informed the meeting
that it is responsible for appointing two of the Trustees of Clarkes Old School.
Roger Wales has served for the last three years and is therefore due for
reelection. Shirley Wales proposed,
Brian Procter seconded and he was duly reelected. Harry Marley advised that Yvonne Marley had
just stood down from the board and that a new Trustee was therefore
needed. David Clarke was proposed by
Brian Newhouse, seconded by Mike Dean and duly
elected.
Long
Preston Relief in Need has two representatives, Barbara Houghton and Shirley
Wales and they are to continue in their posts as Chair and Secretary
respectively.
The
condition of the road at Hollowgill was mentioned and
it was agreed that the clerk would write to the council about this and Barbara
Houghton would also follow it up.
The
planning permission granted to Church Lane Farm had included a condition that
the site would be screened by newly planted trees. The council has advised the clerk that this
would be enforced at the next planting season in the Autumn.
The
collection of earth moving equipment at Pikebar is
currently under investigation by the Planning Department of CDC and they will
advise shortly if any action is to be taken.
