1.    The minutes of the last meeting, July 4th 2005, were read and duly signed.

2.    Matters arising:     The white lining at Town End and at the junction of Jack Lane is still pending.

Paythorne Lane end has not yet been started as the land deeds have not been transferred.

3.    Correspondence:     Various items have been received and all were made available for viewing at the end of the meeting.

4.    Planning Applications:     An application has been resubmitted by The Plough Inn to convert The Barn into 2 houses and to build new kitchens for the Pub. A discussion ensued concerning the merits of the application. Some parishioners were opposed to the conversion whilst many were in favour. A secret ballot was carried out, the chair and clerk did not take part. From the 12 present, 7 were in favour of the application, 3 against and 2 abstained. These facts would be sent to Craven District Council Planning Department. Mr Amphlett wished it to be noted that the village were very welcome to make a bid for the barn if they were concerned by its loss as a village amenity.

5.    Asset Register:     Mike Dean told the meeting of the new Parish Council Asset Register. This is a list of all assets for which the Parish Meeting or Council are responsible. The register is then considered as part of the Parish Accounts. Items already considered include: The stone village sign, the village green seat, the Parish Notice board, the Lawnmower and strimmer, the Stocks, the mirror by Clarkes Old School, and the marker stone in Hollowgill. Parishioners were asked to let the clerk or chairman know of any other items which might be included.

6.    Any other Business:    The matter of heavy stone carrying wagons using the Wigglesworth to Settle road through Rathmell was raised. The road has a 7.5 ton weight restriction but several wagons have been seen using the route not for access but as through traffic. Various potholes and poor road conditions were also mentioned. The clerk agreed to investigate both these.

Brian Procter made the meeting aware that he is making a 110 mile horseback ride from Hartington, Derbyshire commencing September 9th, in aid of several charities including the Air Ambulance. Sponsorship forms were available for anyone wishing to assist. He also welcomed anyone who wanted to accompany him for all or part of the ride.

There being no further business the meeting was closed at 8.25 pm
